What a VIN or lot number shows

Enter a 17-character VIN or a Copart or IAAI lot number to see the vehicle's past auction listings: sale date and location, final bid or sale status, primary and secondary damage, title type, odometer reading, keys, Run and Drive status and the auction photos.

How the market figures are calculated

Prices on make, model and year pages are medians of final bids over the last 12 months, so a few extreme sales do not skew them. A page shows figures only when there are enough sales for a stable number. Buyer countries are shown only in aggregate, never for a single vehicle. Figures are recalculated monthly; last update: —.

Auction archive FAQ

Is FinalBid free?

Yes. Searching and viewing auction records on FinalBid is free and needs no account. Some optional extras are paid.

Is FinalBid affiliated with Copart or IAAI?

No. FinalBid is an independent archive. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Copart, IAAI or any other auction platform; it records auction results that were shown publicly.

How do I find what a car sold for at auction?

Enter the VIN or lot number in the search on FinalBid. If the vehicle went through a Copart or IAAI auction covered by the archive, its page shows the sale date, the final bid and the photos.

How often is the data updated?

New auction records are added daily. Market figures (medians by make, model and year) are recalculated once a month.

Can a vehicle page be removed?

Yes. The owner of a vehicle can ask for its page to be removed through the removal request form linked below.

Auction terms

Final bid
The highest bid when the auction closed. If the seller rejected it, the vehicle was not sold at that price.
ACV (actual cash value)
The seller's estimate of what the vehicle was worth before the damage, shown in the auction listing.
Run and Drive
At check-in the vehicle started, could be put in gear and moved under its own power. It is not a guarantee of its condition.
Buy Now
A fixed price at which the vehicle can be bought before the live auction, without bidding.
On approval
The final bid was below the seller's minimum and waits for the seller to accept or reject it.
